Ezkoy ("we", "us", "our") is an AI nutrition coach that helps you track meals, activity and health goals. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how AI meal photo analysis works, and the rights and choices you have. We keep it plain and honest.
We collect only what is needed to run Ezkoy and provide your coaching experience:
We use your data to calculate your calorie and macro targets, show your progress, streaks and coaching insights, generate meal plans, recipes and AI coaching responses, sync your data across your own devices, and keep the service secure and working correctly. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
When you scan a meal, the photo and minimal related context are sent over an encrypted connection to our secure server, which relays it to an AI model to estimate the food and its nutrition. AI coaching and meal plans work the same way, sending only the data needed for the request (for example your recent logs and goals). AI providers process this data to return a result and do not use it to train their models. AI estimates are approximate and may be inaccurate.
Accounts are created with an email address and password and verified with a one-time code sent to your email. Authentication and session management are handled by our backend provider (Supabase). Passwords are never stored on your device; only secure session tokens are kept so you stay signed in.
Health Sync is off by default. If you enable it, Ezkoy reads steps and active energy from Apple Health or Health Connect to improve your daily energy estimates. This health data is used only inside the app for your own tracking, is never sold, and can be disabled at any time in Settings.
Purchases and renewals are handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play under their terms. We receive only your subscription status so we can unlock premium features. Manage or cancel your subscription through your store account.
Most data is stored on your device. When you sign in, your profile and food log are also stored securely with our backend provider (Supabase) so you can sync across your devices. Access is restricted by row-level security tied to your account, so no other user can read or change your data.
Data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Cloud data is protected by account-scoped access controls, and AI model keys are kept server-side only, never in the app. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your account and associated cloud data are permanently removed. We may retain anonymised or aggregated records that cannot be linked to you, and limited information where required by law.
You can edit your profile and logs at any time. Health Sync can be turned off in Settings. You can request a copy of your data by emailing us. You can permanently delete your account and its cloud data from Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by contacting support — see our account deletion page. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.
Ezkoy is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date.
